A native of Charleston, SC, Ashlei is familiar with the challenges faced by the families in her great city. She is a graduate of R. B. Stall High School in Charleston. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Charleston Southern University and a Master of Science degree from Webster University. As a child, she desired to be a probation officer, but things changed when she started working at a group home. So, she committed her life to serving children and youth in need and 11 years later, she is still doing just that. Currently, she works as a Case Coordinator for Specialized Alternative for Families and Youth (SAFY). She joined the board of The Harris House because she wants to help the community and youth in a larger spectrum. While she is not working, she enjoys traveling and exploring different states. She loves Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to thine own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all thy ways, and He will direct thy path.”
